Firebird
Firebird Firebird,
Lo, what beauty I see,
Sizzling and dazzling,
Burning within me.
Holding back the freezing hate,
Melting the hardened world,
Making a path for me.
Firebird Firebird,
Your flames have dulled so
Wings of hot blue;
Have since turned yellow.
This world loves me,
I love it too.
But somewhere in my heart,
I just want to go.
Firebird Firebird,
Where have you gone?
I feel so tired;
I can't stay till dawn.
This world celebrates me,
But, lo, I have been deprived
Only if I were to forsee
My passion's last song.
